Khipu Notes:
Ascher Databook Notes:
  1. This is one of several khipus acquired by the Museum in 1907 with provenance Pachacamac. For a list of them, see UR1097.
  2. A large space on the main cord separates the khipu into 2 parts.
    1. By spacing, the first part is separated into 2 sets of 2 pairs, then 2 groups of 5 pendants each, and then another pair. The first 2 pairs alternate in color: W, MB, W, MB. The rest of the pendants (with the exception of the last one) are W with an MB subsidiary.
    2. The second part is less consistent in group size, subsidiary placement, and color. The values are lower in order of magnitude than those in the first part.
